A celebrity hairstylist’s tips for the perfect blow-dry

Section clips How to get the perfect blow-dry If you like the natural texture of your hair, you can very easily finger-dry it and skip the brush. Start with applying serum through your damp hair. Then, run your fingers through it section by section as your blast dry your hair, moving the Dyson Supersonic from left to right. First work your way with the left side, then the right and finally the back. After you’re done with all the sections from the top, turn your head downwards and move the dryer on the back of all the sections. Flip your hair over for a boost in volume. If you want to smoothen your hair, while you split it section by section with the clips, grab one section with your paddle brush (for a straight blow-dry) or a round brush (for one with curls at the end) and use your dryer while combing the section, moving outwards. Don’t worry about overheating your brush or burning your hands if you’re using the Supersonic—it checks its temperature 20 times per second to ensure it never becomes hotter than it should be. If your hair is soaking wet, run the Supersonic over it to dry it at least to 50 per cent and then section it for the perfect finish. To make your blow-dry last long, make sure you use a volumising shampoo to begin with and then end your blowout with a few spritzes of hairspray.
