Yesterday, Padukone was spotted attending a promotional event in Mumbai. Deviating from her recent ethnic outfits, the actor chose an ivory maxi dress by label Prama by Pratima Pandey for the event. With intricate floral embroidery, pleated sleeves and a ruffled hem, Padukone’s maxi perfectly fell in line with her feminine look. If you thought maxis are to be worn only on vacations, then actor’s recent look will prove you wrong. To accessorise her look, Padukone went with silver earrings by Minerali and matching silver juttis. Deepika Padukone’s dewy make-up, nude lips, sleek mascara and hair tousled in easy waves complemented her ensemble. The actor was seen shaking a leg with the dancers on ‘Ghoomar’, the recently released song from her upcoming movie, Padmavati . Whether planning your Sunday brunch outfit or stepping out for a romantic date night, look no further. Take a cue from Padukone’s sheer number and opt for a relaxed maxi dress. Image: Shutterstock Flutes full of sparkling champagne, polo matches followed by a decadent brunch, art auctions and more… Living a day in the life of an Indian royal sounds like a dream, but what if we told you that you could not only experience this luxury, but also be part of a cause? Hosted by Piya Bajwa of the For Ability India Trust, and held under the patronage of Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur, Nobility for Ability is the first charity fund raiser of its kind. Kicking off on November 17, the luxury weekend will aim to give guests a royal treatment like no other. Expect exclusive, curated tours of Jaipur’s City Palace, followed by a charity polo match held between the Jaipur Royals and the Chantilly Polo Club of France (paired with a champagne brunch, no less), a gala evening that features a special fashion show by couturier Rohit Bal , and a silent art auction. As for the stay, nothing but Jaipur’s Fairmont hotel would do justice. As you enjoy the weekend’s proceedings, you will be giving back to not one, but two special causes. The funds raised by Nobility for Ability will support the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, which has made immense contributions towards the cause of uplifting women and children, and Mohit Ahuja’s KnowDisability.org , an organisation dedicated to helping the differently-abled live a better, more empowered life. A cancer survivor and the proud parent of a special child, Bajwa conceptualised Nobility for Ability with the aim of raising awareness around issues that don’t get talked about enough. “I have experienced first-hand the challenges individuals and their loved ones face against a society that is oblivious, judgmental or insensitive towards those dealing with cancer, children with special needs and women who are downtrodden, or exploited, or abandoned for social, economic or health reasons,” she says. Coinciding with the week that celebrates India’s Children’s Day (November 14), universal Children’s Day (November 20), and Jaipur’s 289th Foundation Day (November 18), the timing of Nobility for Ability couldn’t have been more serendipitous. 6 great ab moves to add to your workout to help speed up weight loss

YOU HAVE READ OF 10 STORIES THIS MONTH 30 day free access to digital issues worth INR 400 Get it now ! Image: Shutterstock The upcoming wedding season brings with it a slew of celebrations, whether it is your best friend’s poolside mehendi or your cousin’s sangeet. And with weddings come the lehengas and saris that put the focus on your midriff. If you’re tired of hitting the gym and killing yourself with workouts that aren’t helping you lose belly fat, then fret not. Scroll through our slideshow ahead for six powerful moves that will work your entire core. The best part about these weight loss exercises? You don’t need dumbbells or weights or any other kind of equipment for them, so they’re great for when you’re short on time and want to do a quick workout at home or while travelling on a holiday. Do all these moves one after the other as a circuit and repeat it up to four times for a complete core workout. 1 /6 Side Plank with Leg Lifts This one is great to get those love handles into shape. Get into a side plank position on your right side. While keeping your torso stable, raise your top leg without bending your knee. Do not let your hips drop. Return to starting position. Repeat the same on the opposite side. Image: Shutterstock Supine Flutter Kicks Lie down on your back and place your hands on top of each other under your tailbone to give your lower body a little support. Raise your feet to a 60 or 70-degree angle and flutter them up and down without touching the floor. Continue the same movement for 15 to 20 counts. Start with three sets of 20 and increase sets and reps as you get stronger. This is a great exercise that targets the obliques. Image: Shutterstock Swiss Ball Superman Test your core strength and try a superman on a stability ball. Lie with your face-down on a Swiss Ball with your feet straight behind you. Make sure you’ve placed the ball on your abdomen. Raise one arm in front of you to your shoulder level. At the same time, raise and extend the opposite leg until it is parallel to the floor or slightly higher. Repeat the same combination of movements for 20 counts. The exercise works best when performed slowly. Image: Shutterstock Plank Push Ups Once regular planks have gotten easy for you, try plank push ups. This exercise combines all the benefits of a plank, with the added arm, shoulder and back workout of a push-up. Start in a plank position and then extend your elbows to a locked-out position while moving your upper and lower body at the same time. Then slowly lower your entire body to the start position and maintain your form. Repeat 10-15 times. Image: Shutterstock Pelvic Bridge Lifts Apart from strengthening your core, this exercise will also strengthen your quadriceps, hamstrings, abdominals and buttocks. Lie flat on the floor, bend your knees, drawing your feet up to or close to your buttocks. Keep your arms by your sides with your palms down. Lift your pelvis off the floor and squeeze your buttocks. Start with ten to fifteen repetitions and hold each pose for three to five counts. Image: Shutterstock Russian Twist Lean back and sit with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor (you can even lift your feet off the floor to increase the intensity of the exercise) and keep the medicine ball to your chest. Rotate to the right and then to the left, keeping the ball at your chest. Make sure you twist from the lower back. Do about 15 to 20 repetitions per side. Image: Shutterstock

How to buy the perfect gown for your wedding reception

Image: Instagram.com/hegdepooja How to shop for a gown for your reception Step 1: Decide if you want to focus on volume, embellishments or colour, and look for gowns in that category. It’s best to do a complete round of stores as well as websites before settling down on one. Step 2: Go for at least two trials if you are getting a gown customised. If you make a purchase online, speak to the website’s fit expert to ensure that you are making the right choice. Take into account the website’s policy for returns and customisation before making the transaction. Step 3: Don’t force yourself into a gown that’s not in your size. If you are having second thoughts about the length or the extended trail, have the garment fitted to your liking to avoid any discomfort on the big day. Step 4: Take into account the mobility aspect of your reception gown. You don’t want to feel like an actual mermaid in a mermaid-cut hem that constricts walking or wear something so wide that the groom needs to stand two feet away to stop himself from stepping on the hem. Step 5: Instinct is the best guide. Follow the words of celebrity stylist Elizabeth Saltzman who says, “Be realistic—look at yourself in the mirror. Everyone thinks they stand with their shoulders back and their heads up and perfect, but in reality we all tend to stand on one foot more than the other. If someone walks out feeling uncomfortable, you can tell. You can tell when someone’s eyes aren’t shining and they are not feeling it.” VOGUE RECOMMENDS If you are looking at the perfect twirl-worthy gown, one that catches the light and makes you feel like a movie head to Manish Malhotra . The designer’s couture line is targeted towards the needs of the modern Indian bride who is looking for cocktail wear that’s as glamorous as her lehenga. You can never go wrong with gold tones on Indian skin and a soft ecru backdrop offsets the metallic tone without being overwhelming. The cold shoulder of the sleeve allows you to bare a hint of skin. You can never go wrong with a solid colour and the brightest of pinks is perfect for a bride. Dare to go embellishment free with this Alexis Mabille gown with simple knotted detailing at the bust. Pair the gown with contrasting emerald jewellery for maximum impact. This is perfect choice for the reception that goes on until the wee hours of the morning. Want to go glam but focus on one element? Alex Perry ’s strapless gold gown is effortless, impactful and doesn’t require too much thought to win you over. You can dress this one up with accessories or go easy with just a pair of chandelier earrings. Scroll through our gallery of more gowns to choose from. 1 /12

Kate Moss on how she perks up her skin after late nights and long flights Plus, she reveals her start-to-finish skincare routine By Bridget March The title 'beauty icon' is bestowed upon famous faces with mere casual consideration these days, but if anyone deserves the crown it's the enigmatic Kate Moss. While the world has witnessed her endless guises as a model, Moss is known for revealing little of her personal life – including that of her beauty regime. But now she's partnered with prestige skincare and colour cosmetics brand Decorte, the Super has exclusively shared some of her secrets with us. Currently serving as global brand ambassador for the Asian beauty brand, Moss was an instant fan, having said she can 'really see a difference' in her skin since using the products. Below she reveals more to us about her streamlined beauty routine and quick-fix skin tricks. 'The ice plunge is the best trick I've learnt [to mask tired eyes and perk up the skin]. Fill a sink or a bowl with ice cubes, cold water and slices of cucumber and hold your face in for as long as you can, it instantly reduces puffiness and tightens up your skin. 'I love how my skin feels and looks after a weekend in the country with fresh air and lots of rest. As I spend so much time wearing a lot of make-up at work, I tend to keep it simple when I'm not. [Also,] I do like to have a facial and massage when I can. A post shared by DECORTÉ (@decortebeauty) on Aug 16, 2017 at 8:16am PDT 'My nighttime routine is very simple . For skincare, I absolutely love the Decorte Meliority range, I wash my face with the Repair Foaming wash which is gentle but super effective at removing all traces of the day, followed by the Intensive cream. 'My daytime routine is also simple , I apply another favourite, the Vitality Tincture, to give my skin a glow, the Soft Powder Foundation and a bit of bronzer. 'On a flight, I use the Decorte Slim & Firm masks to hydrate my skin. It's great for intense hydration. 'My favourite Decorte product is the Vitality Tincture , it just makes your skin look and feel amazing. I don't know how but it just works! I'm obsessed with it.'

9 simple tips to stay fit while you're on a vacation

9 simple tips to stay fit while you're on a vacation

9 simple tips to stay fit while you're on a vacation Work it By Jessica Chandra We often approach holidays as if they’re our dream lives, and shouldn’t bear any resemblance to our everyday lives, and for the most part that’s true. But when you return, the post-holiday blues start to kick in, and it doesn’t help when you realise you’ve gained some weight because all you did was eat pasta and gelato, and drink wine. Life is about balance, and the same goes for travelling, if maintaining some level of health and fitness is important to you. And it doesn’t have to be hard. Here are eight easy ways to do it. Pack exercise clothes. This may seem like a no-brainer but you’d be surprised how many people don’t pack exercise clothes (I’m guilty). Working out in your fashion sneakers is not a good idea, for your feet or for the shoes. Hit up the hotel gym. This is a given if you’re staying at a hotel, and the gym amenities are usually amazing. It’s also a great way to beat jet lag. Can’t sleep? Work out! Schedule workout time. Just as you schedule workouts in your everyday life, you’re more likely to stay on top of it if you work it into your holiday routine. We know you’re “on holiday,” but it could be as simple as waking up an hour earlier to go for a pre-breakfast run or walk. Bonus: it’s a great way to explore the neighbourhood you’re staying in. Bring a fitness DVD. Not all accommodations are equipped with a gym, so if you need extra motivation pack a fitness DVD — this is something Michelle Bridges does. “I always take my fitness DVDs with me,” Michelle told The Huffington Post . “I use them all the time because it saves time; I roll out of bed and work out. I’ve built them so that you don’t need much space. You don’t have to have a gym to get a work out. Five exercises: squats, push ups, crunches, burpies, and shuttle runs. I’m going to do each for one minute. Run to the park, do each exercise for a minute, have a breather, do it again, breather, repeat. Run yourself home. Done! Or run to the beach, take yourself for a swim, run home. Done!” Luckily, because 90% of us mere mortals aren't fitness-focused enough to remember to pack a workout DVD for our holidays, some hotel chains already have us covered. JW Marriott hotels & resorts have partnered with America's leading ballet company, The Joffrey Ballet, to bring exclusive barre workouts to every Asia-Pacific hotel room in on-demand video format; Behind The Barre. They're also launching a Barre to Bar Brunch package, including a morning barre workout followed by champagne brunch at their Singapore South Beach location. Sign. Us. Up. Do a Tabata workout in your room. This is similar to the point above but you don’t need a DVD, and you can do them purely with bodyweight (we know you’re not going to pack dumbbells in your luggage). A Tabata circuit is a high intensity workout that generally operates on a pattern of eight 20-second exercises followed by 10 seconds of rest. It’s quick, but effective, and you’ll be tired before you know it. If you do it properly and really push yourself, you should feel like you’ve worked out after 15 minutes. You can alternate the exercises as you please — an example circuit is squats, push-ups, alternating lunges and planks. There are plenty of circuit combinations around—just make sure you alternate so your body has time to rest between sessions. Take the opportunity to try city-specific workouts. I’m going to use the U.S. as an example here. Look up workouts specific to the city you’re travelling to—for example SoulCycle in the States, where you might find yourself cycling next to a celebrity — because it may be the only opportunity you get to do them. Remember to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Eat as much fresh produce as you can. We take our local supermarkets and always-stocked fruit baskets for granted at home. When you’re on holiday you almost have to remind yourself to eat fruit and vegies. You may think it’s the time to throw your diet, or regular eating plan, out the window, but you won’t feel so great when you return home 5kg heavier because you ate pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One potentially good thing about eating so lavishly is that you may start craving healthy food. Stock up on easy-to-eat fruit like bananas, apples, grapes and stone fruit, and try to stick to natural nut and muesli bars instead of high-sugar processed ones when you need snacks. Walk as much as you can. When I went to Europe for two weeks on my own, I ate pretty badly. (I’m also not the healthiest eater at the best of times.) So I was really surprised when friends told me I looked like I’d lost weight upon my return. I can only put it down to the fact that I walked pretty much everywhere — I didn’t track it at the time, but my iPhone’s in-built Health app told me there were days where I walked about 30km. OK, I don’t know how accurate that is, and it may have counted public transport as well, but I do recall days where I walked for hours. Same thing happened to me in Japan. I thought I’d eaten double my body weight in ramen, but I didn’t gain any weight because we walked so much. The bottom line: we should all walk more, and try to incorporate it into our daily lives. Just make sure you’re wearing the right shoes.

ELLE tried and tested: Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation

ELLE tried and tested: Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation The game-changing foundation has a waiting list of over 30,000 people. Yes, really By Jacqueline Kilikita November 7, 2017 SHARE Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, it's been pretty impossible to miss the hotly-anticipated launch of Huda Beauty's #FauxFilter Foundation. Like an Instagram filter IRL, the brainchild of Dubai-based blogger, entrepreneur, Instagram sensation and make-up maestro Huda Kattan promises an 'airbrushed finish for a second skin look,' and has sent beauty journos, bloggers and make-up-obsessives alike into meltdown. So in a bid to step up our selfie game, we put it to the test. Is it worth the hype? One word: Yes — and the clue's in the name as to why. At first, the consistency is akin to Giorgio Armani's legendary Luminous Silk Foundation i.e. you can tell it's going to be substantial but not mask-like. It's one of the most highly pigmented foundations we've tried, but on application, it felt like butter and blended like a dream. Just like Mayfair and X-Pro II, it blurred our enlarged pores, blemishes and any redness into oblivion and lent our complexion a supermodel-esque luminosity — without us even having to try. Named after desserts, (so extra, but we love) the 30-strong collection also caters to a seriously diverse range of skin tones including Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Rich, with each of those categories boasting six different shades. You should buy #FauxFilter Foundation if... You like full coverage make-up, because boy, does it deliver. We didn't actually need to go over any areas with concealer because it acts like a foundation and a pigmentation/dark spot/under-eye circle corrector in one. A single pump (trust) is ample to cover your whole face. Even with all of that pigmentation and staying power, it doesn't settle into fine lines like other full-coverage foundations, which tend to go cakey, powdery or chalky after a few hours of wear. Instead, it almost floats over blemishes and creases. The best part? It feels super-comfortable and will not budge until you see fit to take it off at the end of the day. In other words, it's the only foundation you should reach for over party season. Is #FauxFilter worth your hard-earned cash? If you find it difficult to hunt down the perfect shade of foundation then #FauxFilter has got you sorted with a huge focus on your skin's undertone to make colour matching ten times easier and more accurate. According to Huda, #FauxFilter dries to a 'radiant powder finish,' which sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, but it actually delivers. It feels perfectly matte but also looks dewy and glowy in all the right places, leaving skin feeling comfortably hydrated and making highlighter an option, not a necessity. We also love how it boasts a subtle floral scent. If you're a foundation fanatic like us, you'll know that some of them smell a bit like, well, paint — and that makes #FauxFilter so much more appealing when you're wearing it all day. What's the best way to apply #FauxFilter Foundation? If you have dry skin in places, invest in the Huda Beauty Complexion Perfection Pre-Makeup Base. A duo of rosehip oil and dimethicone will instantly quench any parched patches so the foundation virtually glides on. Those with oily skin might want to choose something a little more mattifying. We love the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat. Rather than filling the brush or drenching your make-up sponge like the Insta-elite, pump the product on to the back of your hand and apply where needed. A little really does go a long way. If you're prone to oil slicks come 1pm, take a damp make-up sponge and daub a little translucent powder over your t-zone and chin to lock the foundation in place. Dusting it on with a brush can sometimes move the foundation around and leave your complexion looking patchy — not cool. How much is #FauxFilter Foundation and where can I buy it? Despite the huge following, #FauxFilter is only Rs 2,738 (approx) for 35ml, placing it into the same price bracket as fail-safe foundation brands like Charlotte Tilbury, NARS and Estée Lauder. You can join the #FauxFilter waiting list online at Cult Beauty right now or shop range in store and online at either Harrods or Selfridges. Flawless skin all round.

12 emerging styling trends that will dominate Instagram in 2018

A post shared by RUDA studio (@ruda_studio) on Nov 1, 2017 at 5:02am PDT HI-LO High fashion in typically mundane places (bodegas, diners, 7-Elevens, fast food joints) is far more realistic than 'Insta ready' outfits in 'Insta ready' restaurants. Plus, it doesn't seem as premeditated as 'grams taken in more 'high brow' locations, and it's a lot more endearing. A post shared by Daisy Donohoe (@daisydonohoe) on Oct 29, 2017 at 12:34pm PDT CLOSED CAPTION SUBTITLES It's unclear whether Aussie photographer Sarah Bah Bah (whose account has become one of the most shared accounts on Instagram ) started this trend, or if it's just a result of our collective nostalgia for the old, closed-caption fonts in 1980s to early '90s. What is clear, however, is how quickly this trend has cemented itself as a favourite amongst Instagram's cool kids. 5 beauty habits your future self will thank you for

5 beauty habits your future self will thank you for The best anti-ageing secrets By Btyb Pantene November 7, 2017 SHARE Every day we’re bombarded with anti-ageing advice and, with more “solutions” than ever, it’s hard to determine the quality tips from the questionable. In an attempt to streamline everyday beauty routines, we’re revisiting the basics and replacing quick pick-me-ups with long-term habits. Follow these rules and as early as next month, you’ll see that skin and hair can get better with age. 1. Train your hair strong 85 percent of women dream of having long, free-flowing hair and almost half of the women who have long hair want it even longer. However, the leading factor holding women back from achieving their long hair goals is having dry, damaged ends that need to be cut off*. Add a deeply-nourishing shampoo and conditioner like Pantene Pro-Vitamin Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner to your arsenal. The new SMART formula hunts out the weak spots in your hair, depositing the perfect amount of conditioner and making it strong in all the right places. When hair is strong from root to tip it’s less likely to break so you can skip the next trim. “Nourishing your hair from root to tip with the right conditioner is the best way to repair damage," says Pantene Hair Ambassador and celebrity hair stylist, Remington Schulz. 2. Eat yourself pretty Clear skin and glossy hair are, first and foremost, a product of your lifestyle. A balanced, macro-nutrient diet not only speeds up skin cell turnover, it accelerates hair growth and makes for healthy gums (read: great teeth), too. Here, some lesser-known ingredients bursting with beauty benefits: Maca powder: The Peruvian root vegetable (classed as a superfood) is best known for its ability to boost energy levels and correct hormone imbalances. Raisins: Not only great for curbing sugar cravings — did you know refined sugar makes your hair go greyer faster? — they’re high in silica, the mineral your hair thrives on. Pumpkin seeds: Yes they’re salty, but they’re also rich in zinc which protects your scalp from flakiness. Instagram: @anushkasharma 3. Don't skimp on skin protection You know SPF 50+ is the main thing standing between you and flawless skin in 10 years, but have you ever spared a thought for the part of your body that sees the most sun? Hint: your hair. On average, women’s hair is three times more exposed to the sun than skin which can lead to brittle ends, colour-fade and frizzy hair.
