Not Just Entertainment: 6 Life Lessons ‘Bigg Boss’ Season 11 Taught Us

Many dismiss Bigg Boss as just another reality show full of scripted drama. But, let's be honest. For a number of people, it's their daily source of entertainment. With season 11 nearing its end, we're all trying to digest the fact that there will be a hole in our lives now from 10:30pm to 11:30pm every day - our popcorn time. Sure, the show is high on drama and negativity, but all that has a bright side, which we often fail to recognise. The show teaches us a number of life lessons. Yes, all those changing equations, daily tasks, and the pitched battle for survival has messages that we can only understand if we put some thought into it. Whether or not you want to apply them to your life is a different discussion altogether. 1. Any publicity is good publicity
Ahem, we can certainly learn that from Akash Dadlani and Hina Khan. They're two contestants who've earned most of their support with negativity publicity. The main funda is to produce content that sells. If you don't do so, you'll soon fade out of people's memories and THAT, my friend, can cost us a lot! 2. You can cry your way out of EVERYTHING
Now, we're not sure if we'd want to apply this to your life, this lesson we learned from drama queen Hina Khan. Ever since the show started, the actress has been taking advantage with her ‘crocodile tears' (that's what her housemate Mehjabi Siddiqui calls them) to make her way out of a situation. Oh, please note, one important tip she subtly shared is only cry when someone's watching. Don't waste your precious tears. 3. Teamwork
No matter how smart or strong you are as an individual, if you can't work in teams, you're screwed. Be it your personal or professional life, you have to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your team since that's the only way to attain success. 4. Life is all about unexpected twists and turns
While there was a point when viewers and contestants could easily guess who's getting evicted next or what's going to happen, slowly things turned unpredictable and even the strongest housemates were tricked into nominations. Life is the same; you can't always be at the top of your game. It'll toss a difficulty into your path right when you think nothing can go wrong. 5. Taking a stand is important
Whenever necessary, you have to put your foot down and ensure no one takes you for granted. Don't be cowed down if they try to corner or single you out. Bigg Boss contestants have time and again taught everyone to speak up and not sit in a corner sobbing about things. 6. Karma is a bitch!
Be careful with your actions and words, because sooner or later you'll have to face its consequences. Zubair Khan and Hina Khan are two contestants who've lied their way out of a situation and ended up in difficult situations later.
