1 /5Shraddha Kapoor is giving us major vacation goals! The actor’s Instagram account shows her globetrotting quite frequently, and looking like a million bucks even as she braves long flights and sightseeing in the sun. Here are some skincare tips to follow while on vacation, which will ensure you look just as fabulous.
Prep for the vacation in advance Once you decide to take a vacation, it’s ideal to start prepping your skin for it at least a week in advance. Exfoliate your skin thoroughly , every alternate day in the week leading up to the vacation. This will ensure your skin is dewy fresh. Use a moisturiser as often as possible to counter dryness that sets in with air travel, and change in environment. Get a manicure and pedicure so your hands are in shipshape, and get waxed and threaded two days prior to travel. Eat sensibly – especially if you want to look great in your new swimsuit!
Make sure you pack beauty essentials Carry along a few skincare essentials in a travel-sized kit, and ensure you used them regularly. Lip balm, acne cream (if you are prone), moisturiser, night hydration cream, hydrocortisone cream for any rashes or bites, and hand cream for the night. Keep the makeup down to a minimum – just some kohl and lip gloss, and a cc cream if you’re very particular.
4 /5Apply sunscreen, even if you’re going to be indoors While travel-sized packs may suffice for other essentials, carry a big bottle of sunscreen! You’re most likely going to be out a lot, and sunscreen is your best friend . Not only does it keep your skin moisturised, it also prevents sunspots, freckles and burning. Remember though, to apply it everywhere – not just on the exposed areas. Also, if you can, wipe off and reapply the sunscreen on your face every 3-4 hours.
Resist the urge to binge Sure, you’re going on vacation to have a great time, and that includes food. But resist the urge to binge – it’s just going to give you instant gratification, and not much else. Cut down on things that don’t add to the experience – you don’t need carbonated drinks, or excessive alcohol to enjoy the vacation. Nor do you need fast food. Drink plenty of water and savour freshly cooked local cuisine instead.
