Flipkart strengthens senior management team, appoints 5 new VPs - Flipkart- Facebook The five senior executives will take up roles of Vice President across functions like fashion, corporate strategy, engineering, risk management, shared technology and services group. The new appointees include Dev Iyer, Srinivasulu Grandhi, Phanimohan Kalagara, Naren Ravula, and Vineet Sethi. The total number of VPs at Flipkart, including the new hires, now stands at 28. Flipkart has been on a hiring spree to maintain its dominance in the country’s e-commerce market. Walmart’s acquisition of roughly 77 percent for $16 billion in the e-commerce firm has also created openings across all verticals. Flipkart is expected to launch its own loyalty programme, Flipkart Plus, which will be a free to use service that has been in development for the past year to compete with rival Amazon’s Prime service. The senior management at Flipkart especially the new appointees will play a crucial role in the success of this new venture.
